Provisions for Pasta and More

By Roslynn “Roz” Magelli Fulmer

As a kid, I always knew we were going for a trip “down home” (from Utica, Illinois) when my dad would load up our station wagon with a 25-pound bag of sugar and a 50-pound bag of flour for grandma. And Italian cigars for grandpa.

On the return trip hoe, grandma loaded us up with her fried chicken for the long four-hour ride home. Plus, homemade bread and strawberry jam.

PS: Grandpa gave me the nickname “Roz” because he didn’t like Roslynn.
